I had the honor of photographing Bianca de la Garza late last year, and my photograph ended up on the cover of New Face Magazine (you can pick up a print or digital copy of it here). This emmy-winner's career has been full of awards and acclaim, but Bridget Arsenault at Forbes can give you the run-down better than I can: "A highly respected producer, host, and journalist with more than 20 years of television experience, Bianca has worked for ABC, FOX and stations across the U.S. She received an Emmy nomination for her coverage of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in London, where she secured a world-exclusive interview with Mohammed Al-Fayed. Furthermore, her award-winning reporting exposed and led to the closing of an illegal sweatshop in California along the U.S./Mexico border. Leaving a more traditional and monolithic studio system, She created and is the host of BIANCA, which at its height has aired across 20 million homes in the U.S. Embarking now on yet another challenge, having founded Bianca de la Garza Beauty, a skincare and beauty line that aims to take a more inclusive approach towards beauty."
For this shoot, we camped out in a giant home in the San Fernando Valley. At the time I was supposed to be loading in, the cleaning crew was still working hard and running behind schedule, and when we finally got in there, there were stains on the carpet and the place looked like it had been pretty beat up and basically just super-glued back together for the next day of shooting. Then I met the owner and the first thing she did was to brag to us that Ariana Grande had just filmed her music video for "7 Rings" the night before, and suddenly all the water damage (errr, champagne damage?) made sense.
