My wife Andrea and I headed down to L.A. for the weekend for a photo-filled work-cation last weekend. We dropped off the kids with Grandma and Grandpa, checked into our poolside Cabana at the Hollywood Roosevelt, and lounged by the pool for a bit before heading out to Venice Beach for a model portfolio shoot with Layla Palma of L.A. Models and her talented cousin Lilliana G. who brought her makeup/hair styling skills to the table.
One thing about shooting in Venice is the er... atmosphere??? Safety is a big concern for your entire crew, your vehicle, your gear, etc. You also have to make some editorial decisions, like "should I leave that gallon jug of urine in the shot or photoshop it out?" It was a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish, but the highlight for me was probably when someone decided to set all the toilet paper on fire in the bathrooms.
Andrea captured some BTS moments of the shoot : )
